Let’s take a minute to talk about Maca Root. Maca Root has gained a lot of popularity over the last few years and it’s easy to see why. It’s absolutely loaded with health benefits. Wow! That all sounds awesome! Let’s all eat Maca Root, right? Well… to be perfectly honest, it isn’t my favorite flavor. It’s a bit like malt but not nearly as tasty. It took some getting used to. But I found by adding Maca into these smoothies it makes it pretty pleasant to consume. You can switch up the fruit to what you like and what’s in season. Sometimes I add sweetener if the fruit is very sour. I hope you enjoy!
Red Maca Root Smoothie
- 1 c. frozen fruit (today I used a combination of bananas and raspberries)
- 1 c. fresh fruit (today I used strawberries)
- 2 c. almond milk
- 1-3 t. Red Maca powder
- 1-2 T. honey or agave syrup, optional
- 1/2 t. cinnamon, optional
Place everything into a blender and blend until smooth.
